Carhartt Streetwear

Carhartt Marketing Department Europe

The good folks over at Carhartt Streetwear (the streetwear brand of american workwear manufacturer Carhartt Inc.) asked me to relaunch their website. The old all-flash page had become a bit clumsy over time, so it was my turn to replace it with a flexible, clean, and content driven site. Now a versatile grid holds everything from news articles, event calendar, store finder, to product catalog, and so on. I was responsible for the whole works — information architecture, site design, frontend code and implementation. Additional software development came from the always helpful Christian Belka.

  • 4  The front page
  • 3  A news article
  • 7  News articles in list view
  • 8  The product catalog
  • 6  A single product view

Carhartt Skate

Carhartt Marketing Department Europe

Following the main relaunch, Carhartt’s skate team got its very own site-in-site. While the underlying grid remains the same, the site’s color scheme is inverted to separate it from the main site.

  • 43  A profile page
  • 44  European Skateboard Championships

Carhartt BMX

Carhartt Marketing Department Europe

Similary to the skate section, Carhartt’s BMX department got their own niche on the main website. A background pattern, modified structure, and some other graphic touches accommodate the change in content.

  • 74  The BMX frontpage
  • 46  A team riders profile page
  • 47  Single view of a tour

A calendar

Fun little project: made a calendar that displays the daily hours of sunshine 30 years ago, projected onto the year 2008. Screenprint, 100×70cm.

paristokyopempelfort™

31nord

The boys at paristokyopempelfort needed an e-commerce solution to kickstart their screenprint-business. That’s when I came in: I provided the site design and took care of the implementation.

WE KNOW RAP

These days, our self-initiated project — self-confidently entitled WE KNOW RAP — is celebrating its second anniversary. The core of the site consists of a multi-authored weblog, focussing on rap music. In addition we provide a (at least to us) comprehensive rap album database which allows readers to rate releases, sort them, etc. Site design and implementation in cooperation with Moritz Guth.

  • 25  An interview
  • 26  The release section
  • 27  Album with staff and user ratings

Klaas Wochenshow

MTV Networks

Bionic Systems asked me to help them with the package for German TV show Klaas Wochenshow. They provided the concept and artwork and I took over the animation on the opener, as well as various other elements.

JUICE.DE

Piranha Media

The publishing house Piranha Media (Spex, Groove, Riddim, etc.) asked us to bring Europe’s most popular HipHop magazine, JUICE, to the web. Every single article of the print issue, as well as an ongoing stream of daily news, thousands of reviews, and several other content types had to be incorporated. Moritz Guth and me were responsible for the site design and frontend code. The actual implementation is being done elsewhere.
